FAQ

Who is this group for?
This group is designed for kids ages 11–14 who are navigating friendships, big feelings, growing independence, and the many changes that come with middle school years.
What will my child actually do in group?
Each weekly in-person session creates a safe, supportive space where kids can build social and emotional skills, practice communication and coping strategies, work through peer challenges, and learn tools to manage anxiety, self-doubt, and stress — all in an age-appropriate, engaging way.
Is this group right for my child if they are shy or hesitant?
Yes. Many kids who benefit from group feel unsure at first. The group is structured to gently encourage participation while honoring each child’s comfort level. Over time, many hesitant kids begin to feel more confident and connected.
What kinds of topics are discussed?
Common themes include friendship drama, feeling left out, navigating social media, managing academic pressure, handling big emotions, building self-esteem, and learning how to speak up respectfully and confidently.
How is this different from individual therapy?
Group therapy allows kids to practice real-time social skills with peers in a guided setting. It reduces isolation by helping them see they’re not the only ones struggling — and gives them the opportunity to feel seen, heard, and understood by other kids their age.
