About Me
Brittany Martorella, LMSW, is a licensed master social worker who supports adults navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, trauma, and issues related to self-worth and identity. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and her master’s in social work from Stony Brook University.
Brittany’s approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and grounded in genuine connection. She believes that meaningful change happens when clients feel truly seen, understood, and safe enough to explore both the difficult and the nuanced parts of their experiences. In sessions, she works alongside her clients to slow down patterns, build insight, and create space for new ways of thinking, feeling, and relating.
Her clinical experience includes working closely with individuals, couples, and families connected to law enforcement, where she developed a strong understanding of how high-stress professions can shape emotional experiences, communication styles, and family dynamics. She recognizes the often unspoken impact this work can have on relationships, identity, and nervous system regulation, and she brings this awareness into her work with clients navigating similar pressures, whether in demanding careers or complex relational environments.
Brittany integrates a range of evidence-based modalities, including CBT, ACT, psychodynamic, person-centered, and trauma-informed approaches, while tailoring each session to the individual in front of her. She also incorporates somatic and mindfulness-based practices to help clients better understand and regulate their emotional and physiological responses, especially when feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected.
Her work often focuses on helping clients better understand the “why” behind their patterns—whether in relationships, self-talk, or emotional reactions, while also building practical tools to navigate them differently. She has a particular interest in attachment, helping clients explore how past experiences shape current relationships and how to move toward more secure and fulfilling connections.
Brittany’s goal is to create a space where clients feel both supported and gently challenged—empowered to build resilience, deepen self-awareness, and make meaningful, lasting changes in their lives.
