About Me
Silvana came to therapy through two decades of a different kind of listening. As founding editor-in-chief of Rachael Ray Every Day and a bestselling cookbook author, she used food to explore identity and social disconnection, with an almost anthropological curiosity about what makes people feel at home and less alone. That curiosity now anchors her work as a therapist.
She works with teenagers, adults, and couples navigating life transitions, anxiety, relationship and family tensions, parenting, trauma, and grief and loss. She is especially drawn to people moving through change: a high school senior or college student, a career changer, a woman in midlife, someone facing divorce, family estrangement, or the care of an ill or aging loved one. Beneath much of what they’re holding, she sees disconnection from other people and from themselves. That is why her work is relational and moves toward reconnection.
Silvana understands what a person carries as living in the body, not only the mind. Drawing on trauma-informed narrative work alongside somatic, nervous-system-focused approaches, she helps clients feel safe enough to co-create a life that feels more spacious and alive. In session, expect a warm, grounded space where you’re held as the expert on your own life.
Her conviction that healing is relational grew from her individual and group work with caregivers at Northwell Phelps Hospital. She is completing her MSW at the University at Buffalo, under the supervision of Amanda Roude, LCSW.
